The Huntley Art Hub Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by watercolor artist Brian Marr, whose evocative and powerful works capture the quiet poetry of place. In this June 2026 feature, Marr brings together two of his most compelling bodies of work: his atmospheric McHenry County barn landscapes and his dynamic Chicago cityscapes.
Through fluid washes, layered light, and a masterful sense of mood, Marr transforms familiar scenes into moments of reflection—rural barns standing in golden fields, the iconic glow of the Chicago Theatre at night, and the subtle intersections of architecture, weather, and memory. Each piece invites viewers to pause, breathe, and rediscover the beauty in the everyday.
The exhibition also includes a selection of special works from Marr’s travels, offering glimpses into the places that have inspired him beyond Illinois. Whether depicting a quiet countryside or the pulse of an urban street, his paintings carry a signature emotional resonance that feels both intimate and expansive.
Every high‑quality print in the collection is presented in a handcrafted wooden frame, built by the artist himself. This dual craftsmanship—painter and woodworker—ensures each artwork is not only visually compelling but thoughtfully finished, reflecting Marr’s deep respect for detail and material.
“Between Fields and Skyline” celebrates the landscapes that shape us, the cities that move us, and the moments that stay with us long after we’ve left them.
Brian Marr’s exhibition runs June 1 - 30 and is on display during our open hours Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. Brian will be in the Gallery for meet‑and‑greets on Saturday, June 6th & Saturday, June 20th from 11am–1pm. Come meet the artist, explore his collection, and take home a piece of art that speaks to you.
